#tbt: Can You Tell — Ra Ra Riot
With their debut album, The Rhumb Line, Ra Ra Riot gives us this pleasant ditty. It’s bouncy and breezy, and it’s melancholic percussions mix well with the soft, warm strings of their cello and violin. Not relying too much on synths, their music is melodic and organic. “Can You Tell” builds in a manner similar to how your blood pressure builds when you see that somebody who makes you lose sleep, while the drumbeats imitate the rhythm of your heartbeat when you can’t keep your cool around them.
